LABS first borders exhibit |
June 2004
| LABS puts together a betta expo at BORDERS BOOKS STORE
Thousand Oaks
By far our most daring event, this expo was very well received by Border's customers, showing once again that bettas always have mass appeal. Many LABS members volunteered to help set-up and transfer the many bettas on display. This challenging task, encompassing the hauling and pouring of many many gallons of water was tackled with a smile and with great LABS spirits! Not only was the expo set-up successfully, but it was set-up in a timely manner, allowing the exhibit to be open to the public right on time! A lecture by Faith (moi) followed, covering bettas background, genetics, selective breeding, spawning and general keeping tips. It was hard to tell who was more excited about the event: Our members, or the non LABS people who happened to show up? Many of which ended up signing up on the spot and becoming LABS themselves hehehe! It was great to be able to inoculate the betta bug to these (now) new comers to our hobby. |

Faith:
Thank you so much for all the
hard work you've put in for this. I have enjoyed the "show and
tell". Hope that we can do more of this. Please contact me if you
need a hand. I'm on your team!
Thanks again for the numerous
hours of calling, packing up of fish, and other gear. It was a great
job. Great to see Barb too!
