Face it: Dreamcatchers are striking. So striking one would spend years trying to produce more. Elusive, hard to produce, beautiful, a dream come true, the black bettas with white butterfly pattern are one of my three favorites. If I can get 10 a year I am happy. Needless to say these very rare bettas do not sell cheap. They will also throw solid blacks and marbled blacks, so it is a fun strain to work with. And when you do get one black/white BF, it makes all the hard work well worth it!

I've picked Dr. Gene Lucas brains trying to figure out ways to make it easier to get more black/white BF, but neither of us could do it LOL. So the hard way it is.

Dreamcatchers are sturdy, easy to spawn, but the pattern is elusive, so it is a lot of hit and miss. Females are usually solid black or may be slightly marbled.

Because they are rare, and sought after, they are pricey. So maybe not the best choice if you are a beginner (unless you have lots of dough to spend on bettas, that is ;)  ).

Many specimens display a beautiful piebald (flesh colored face / head) pattern as well, but not all do. Regardless, a beautiful strain to pursue and immortalize, a beautiful dream to catch.
